A tragedy has hit Kasarani area after a man killed himself in what appears to be a suicide mission. The 29 year old is said to have set himself on fire and burnt to death leaving residents and neighbours in shock why the man did this.
The man identified as Denise Gakuru was discovered in his house after going missing since yesterday. The motive behind his decision has not yet been revealed as police are still doing investigations. Police discovered a soaked piece of cloth in paraffin which points out clearly that it was a suicide mission.
He wrapped himself with the cloth and then doused himself with some paraffin before igniting the fire. Neighbours who sensed something was wrong rushed to rescue him and took him to hospital where he lost his life due to severe burns.
Cases of suicide among Kenyans especially youths have been quite rampant and many are being related to the high cost of living that push Kenyans to the extreme ends leaving them with no option but to end their life to avoid more pain and suffering. However, it is always good to seek go assistance or guidance whenever one feels depressed instead of killing self.
