Transforming the Boda boda sector in Alego/Usonga sub-county

The new leadership of Boda boda operators in Alego/Usonga sub-county has embarked on a journey of transforming that industry through unity of purpose.

Chairman of the Alego/Usonga Boda boda operators Mr. Paul Owino Olik says that their projection is to completely change the image of that industry in the next one year, to ensure that their all their members are empowered socially and economically.

Speaking during the Boda boda elections in West Alego Ward, the chairman said that their vision is to have a sector where members can easily fend for their families and even pay school fees for their children without any hiccups.

His sentiments were echoed by Maurice Owino and Vincent Otieno who commended the peaceful coexistence that has been exhibited amongst the boda boda members even during their campaign period.

They have therefore promised to support ad work with their elected leaders to ensure they develop together.

Margaret Ohenga and Elizabeth Paul equally called for unity, saying that they would wish to see a united sector where they can all be each other’s keeper especially at the hour of need.

They challenged those who unsuccessfully vied for various positions to join those who won so that they can work together to improve the Boda boda sector.

During the elections, Richard Ouma Ayila was elected the chairman, Christine Ochieng’ vice chairperson, Maurice Ouma Secretary and Margaret Adhiambo Ohenga Treasurer.
